Post by Ca+hode »

Some time ago I talked to dr.Green about some beer exchanges. Since this year was a nightmare, let's setup a beer exchange. I shall send 3 beers to someone and so on. Don't know the logistics yet but I am curious if you guys are willing to participate. Cheers

 Hey Ca+hode, I don't know if you know, i found an app and social network dedicated to trading beer, I hope it will be useful for you to exchange...

The Beer Exchange http://thebeerexchange.io/index.html

Get the beer you want.

BEX is an online craft beer marketplace where you can buy beer and have it shipped to your door, trade for rare beer, and manage your personal beer cellar. Create your free account to get started!

A simple interface for proposing trades

We let you propose a trade with a potential parter by simply checking off the beers you are offering and selecting the beers you want in return. If you partner likes the proposal they can accept it, if not, they can edit and repropose a new trade. We even give you the ability to send your address and tracking numbers directly from the interface.

You're busy, so we'll keep you up to date with automatic email notifications when something important happens. That means when someone proposes you a new trade, or if someone accepts, rejects or completes a trade you are involved with.

8-) Cheers

I'm open to beer swaps, but in my experience the damn shipping cost can kill any decent effort  ...unless you are swapping real big brews at high values, it's usually not worth it. International shipping that is.

They invent hopped wine

Maxime Bordelot, brewer at La Chapelle-Basse-Mer, and Romain Héraud, winemaker in Clisson, have been friends for a long time. After several years of testing, they put their grain of madness into a bottle of white wine infused with hops.

These are the two most consumed alcoholic drinks in France. On the one hand, wine. On the other, beer. Two unique worlds, governed by secular traditions and very distinct codes.

Maxime Bordelot and Romain Héraud have chosen to put a big kick in this unshakeable order. Goodbye conformity. To hell with ancestral inheritances. From their 31 and 32 years old, drawing on their passion and their mutual skills, these two friends imagined, experimented, tasted, measured, re-tasted, rectified, tasted a nectar combining the two drinks.

"What if we did ..."

The salesperson at the Divatte craft brewery in La Chapelle-Basse-Mer, recently graduated as a "beer sommelier", and the Clisson winegrower, in the midst of organic conversion of the Perrières estate, launched at the start of year "" Wine hop "", a white wine infused with hops.

“It all started on November 4, 2016,” says Maxime Bordelot. “We made small brews of 50 liters for our personal consumption. We still had hops. After a good day, we said to ourselves, well, if we made an infusion. of hop flowers on wine ".

The first test concerns Folle-Blanche, the variety dedicated to the production of the gros-plant. The result is quite "chaotic". Never mind. A few bottles are put aside. A year later, one of them is unblocked. And there, a pleasant surprise. "The flaws had smoothed out. The flavors were interesting." The promises delivered by this tasting encourage them to take the tests again.

"It's very floral"

They get back to work. Last February, they started marketing two cuvées. The first combines a blend of white melon and Amarillo hops. "It's clearly wine, but it smells of hops, decrypts the brewer. There is no bubble or foam. It's very floral, focused on citrus. It gives a perfect match with a fish in the white butter or Asian cuisine ".

The second combines chardonnay and another hop, known as Mosaïc. "The vinous base is quite round, with fat, explains the specialist. And this hop is more exotic, with aromas of lychee, guava or papaya. It is a sun bomb."

Both versions, which have 12 degrees of alcohol, can also be enjoyed around aperitif time. "The palate is fine and elegant, without bitterness", specifies Maxime Bordelot.

"We even sold samples"

After a start thwarted by the health crisis, Wine hop is attracting more and more people. Several wine merchants and delicatessens of the great west have been convinced. Consumer feedback is enthusiastic. Orders are pouring in. The tasting evenings exceed all expectations. "Last time we sold all the boxes we brought and we even sold samples!"

The bottles are sold around 9 €. The duo are already planning to expand their distribution network. He is also working on new things, such as a natural sparkling wine, then a rosé and a red, all hopped.

Cheers 8-)
